Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum Sailor Jerry Collins is the most famous tattoo artist of all time. He was the first to go to Japan to learn the sacred art of tattooing back in the 20’s. He set up shop in the 30’s tattooing sailors with his distinctive designs. Sailor Jerry Spiced Navy Rum is based on Sailor Jerry’s own personal recipe with 46% alcohol by volume (ABV), and 92 Proof, which is higher, nd spiced with a hint of cherry. Strong, but goes down smooth.
SMOOTH AMBLER CONTRADICTION At Smooth Ambler, after we began merchant bottling the whiskey we call Old Scout, it occurred to us that at some point it may be fun and interesting to blend a little of the delicious bourbon we source with the smooth and sweet wheated bourbon we distill here in West Virginia. With that notion in mind, Contradiction was born; a blend of whiskey we make with whiskey we do not. Contradiction is non-chill filtered and is full-bodied, with notes of dried fruit and butter rum, and has the end-result of tasting like a four-grain bourbon. Mashbill: Merchant bottled bourbon made with corn, rye and malted barley married with homemade bourbon made with corn, wheat and malted barley. Distillation Process: Continuous column distillation and pot distillation. Aging: A blend of different straight whiskeys, there are different ages represented in Contradiction. The majority whiskey is more than 9 years in age. Source of grains: Grains from a variety of sources. Annual Production: Around 50,000 bottles. Tasting Notes: Full of oak, dried cherries, vanilla, and cinnamon creating a signature mature bourbon nose. Sweet from the wheat and spice from the rye and a bit of leather round out the palate. Its viscosity creates a smooth and pleasant finish. Larceny Small Batch Bourbon was hand-selected by the Master Distillers to have a six-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey taste profile. Made from a mash of corn, wheat, malted barley, and rye, Larceny Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey carries on the tradition of Old Fitz by using wheat as the bourbon’s secondary grain rather than rye. As a result, Larceny Bourbon has a sweeter, softer flavor profile compared to bourbons that use rye as their secondary grain. After the grains are milled, they are cooked in Kentucky limestone water and fermented using a proprietary yeast strain. After the fermentation, the mash is distilled through 70-foot tall column stills, and the resulting bourbon is aged in honey barrels for six to twelve years. After aging, the casks are blended and brought to 92-proof before being bottled. The resulting bourbon has a bright new copper color. It has an aroma of buttery bread, honey, nuts, and vanilla. Initial notes of sweet corn, caramel, and honey give way to cinnamon and hints of oak. It provides a gentle, savory finish. Enjoy!
