We never rush the distilling process and only keep the hearts cut of each batch. This whiskey is single finished to perfection with new charred American White Oak. All our Oak comes from the mountains of Tennesse where the trees naturally soak up the sugars from the moist mountain environment. There are no added color or flavorings is Sean’s whiskey. We use only the finest grains available from Denton, TX. The Co-Op of farmers growing only NGO and single strain grains. This group of farmers have been growing the same strains of grains for the last 100 years and plan to be growing for the next 100 years. That way our product will not change due to the different grain supply. Our Cane Sugar comes from Louisiana Sugar Refining in Gramercy, LA. This is a Co-Op of cane farmers in South Louisiana that grows only the finest of cane.

SMOOTH AMBLER CONTRADICTION At Smooth Ambler, after we began merchant bottling the whiskey we call Old Scout, it occurred to us that at some point it may be fun and interesting to blend a little of the delicious bourbon we source with the smooth and sweet wheated bourbon we distill here in West Virginia. With that notion in mind, Contradiction was born; a blend of whiskey we make with whiskey we do not. Contradiction is non-chill filtered and is full-bodied, with notes of dried fruit and butter rum, and has the end-result of tasting like a four-grain bourbon. Mashbill: Merchant bottled bourbon made with corn, rye and malted barley married with homemade bourbon made with corn, wheat and malted barley. Distillation Process: Continuous column distillation and pot distillation. Aging: A blend of different straight whiskeys, there are different ages represented in Contradiction. The majority whiskey is more than 9 years in age. Source of grains: Grains from a variety of sources. Annual Production: Around 50,000 bottles. Barmen 1873 Bourbon (750ml) Barmen is a 92-proof blend of straight bourbon whiskeys bottled in Bardstown, Ky. Barmen is sweet on the front, with a long, lingering spice finish on the end. Proofed with Kentucky water, Barmen delivers a complex flavor profile of caramel, vanilla, grilled peach, raisin, apple, traces of coffee and dark chocolate and even hints of dill and mint.
