Also, it has a fair amount of vanilla and a hint of wood. The mouth stays light and fruity and adds maltiness. It offers light floral notes, crisp-citrus with warmed vanilla, and toasted oak. The malt remains on the medium finish, along with a reminder of the orange blossoms. Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whiskey has bottled at 46% alcohol by volume. It has finished in Olorosso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. It has a definite sherry influence in the form of dried fruits. The sherry seems to battle on the nose with the light citrus/floral notes from the original. It offers aroma and flavors of chocolate-covered raisins, cinnamon, honeycomb, and caramel. It offers a complex balance of sweet and dry flavors of dark mint chocolate, tangerines, spicy-nutmeg, and sandalwood. The citrus and floral notes are toned way down, and out comes a strong chocolate scent. The orange is still there but balanced nicely with the chocolate. The mouth is pleasant and malty like The Original. On the finish, it offers chocolate malt. What a great dessert drink! It is the least finished feeling of the three extra matured expressions. D’or is a natural extension of The Original, with the orange blossoms toned down, and the vanilla coming through more robust and more vibrant, with added cinnamon and nutmeg.
