Angel’s Envy is an exceptional award-winning Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in Port Wine Barrels and inspired by Lincoln Henderson’s lifetime spent crafting the world’s finest spirits. It’s a total return to craft first, hand-blended batches of 8 to 12 barrels at a time, which they carefully taste throughout every step of the process. This would be enough for other bourbons, but they decided to take it further. A small-batch, super-premium Bourbon, Angel’s Envy, is aged for four to six years in white oak before finishing in Port barrels for an incremental five to six months. Once it’s deemed ready, they finish the bourbon in ruby port wine casks, which adds subtly distinct flavor nuances that enhance the whiskey without challenging it. They use 60-gallon ruby port barrels made from French oak and imported directly from Portugal. This creates a whiskey of unprecedented smoothness, sweetness and balance. Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has gold color laced with reddish amber hues, nearly copper in tone. It offers notes of subtle vanilla, raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts on the nose. It has vanilla, ripe fruit, maple syrup, toast and bitter chocolate on the palate. It gives finish that is clean and lingering sweetness with a hint of Madeira that slowly fades. It’s easy to see why this bourbon brought Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson out of retirement.
